The Pk4 AM class had fun at the Fire Station today!

We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week the week of October 21st-25th.. Our theme this year is "Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Drug Free". That week and all other 51 weeks in the year, we remind our students the importance of being drug free! Please have your students participate in our dress up days to celebrate this important week!

Did you know it's Public Power Week? The 2nd graders learned all about electricity and how to stay safe around it. The students witnessed Mrs. Fier, Mrs. Schmidt, and Mrs. Spain ride 56 feet high in the bucket. A big shout out to Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility for coming and showing the kids all of the safety gear, as well as teaching us about power lines and electricity and sharing a book with us!

The fourth graders finally got to do their first experiment today! They are learning about energy in this unit of science. They investigate how energy is stored, how it can make objects move and how collision transfer energy between objects. So today they worked with marbles and a paper made roller coaster to see what would happen when the marbles are dropped from different heights!

Checking out the fire hose was fun but our favorite part of course was riding in the fire trucks back to school. Thank you to all the firefighters who took time this week to teach the students about fire safety and for all they do in our community! God bless you!

The Kindergarten class enjoyed checking out Big Mac especially the big tires.

The Kindergarten class enjoyed their trip to the Fire Station yesterday. We learned about the firefighters' special clothing and how to crawl low under smoke.
